Steven Behmke is a board certified nurse practitioner (NP-C) through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and a board certified anti-aging health practitioner (ABAAHP) through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). He received both a Bachelor’s in Psychology at Rutgers University in NJ and a Bachelor’s in Nursing at Florida State University in Tallahassee, graduating magna cum laude. He attended the University of South Florida in Tampa for his advanced practice education, earning his Master’s in Nursing. Steve is a military veteran, serving 11 years total with the first half of his enlistment in military intelligence and the second half as a combat medic. Serving as a medic is what introduced Steve to the medical field where he developed a strong passion for medicine and helping others. Having witnessed various members of his family struggle with chronic diseases and shortened lifespans, he developed a deep interest in anti-aging and disease prevention. Although Steve’s education and experience in medicine were focused more on general primary care, he received intense specialized training by a renowned anti-aging physician, Dr. Rob Carlson, in hormone replacement therapy, thyroid hormone management, and medical weight loss. Dr. Carlson was recommended by Suzanne Somers in her book “Ageless” as one of two hormone/anti-aging experts in the state of Florida. Steve has an excellent bedside manner and treats every patient as he would want any of his family members to be treated. He genuinely cares about his patients and is dedicated to making sure they feel their best with the highest quality of life possible.

Doctor Robert “Rob” Carlson received his BS degree cum laude from Valparaiso University, double majoring in Chemistry and Biology, and then attended Wright State School of Medicine for his MD degree, graduating in the top 15%. After participating in cardiovascular research at Harvard University, Dr. Carlson was widely published in innovative health topics during his medical and surgical training. Years later, at the University of Florida, Dr. Carlson was the recipient of several research awards including the coveted “Woodward Surgical Award” (top surgical resident) while completing his post graduate training. Dr. Carlson went on to conclude his cardiothoracic surgical training in 1994 at the University of Florida Shands Hospital. Since then, Dr. Carlson has been awarded “America’s Top Doctor” three times. “Dr Rob” has been responsible for training all of our staff on Hormone Therapy and Wellness protocols over the last decade. His enthusiasm for this field and willingness to educate everyone in his life on how to improve their wellbeing was an infectious force that has drawn hundreds of patients to our practice and built unprecedented loyalty from his friends, staff, and clients. Sadly, “Dr Rob” passed away in August 2020 after fighting off the effects of cancer for the prior 5 years. Everything we do is not only because of our great friend, but also in his honor.
Dr. Carlson has been mentioned and quoted in several books on anti-aging, as well as authoring the best-selling health book “The Siesta Beach HCG Diet Lifestyle”. He has also been cited as a medical expert in the Suzanne Somers books on health and nutrition, “Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones”, “Breakthroughs: Eight Steps to Wellness” and “Knockout: Doctors Who Are Curing Cancer And How to Prevent Getting It in the First Place”. An avid runner, Dr. Carlson is a three-time Ironman and has competed in over 20 marathons.
